Discover the Terror in Dead Space with Dario Argento, Italy’s Master of Thriller

Posted by Faruk on Sep 30, 2008 , under | comments (0)

Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that Dario Argento will lend his voice as character Doctor Kyne in the Italian version of Dead Space. EA’s new sci-fi survival horror videogame promises to deliver the ultimate in psychological thrills and gruesome action. Dead Space is designed to make sure that everyone from videogame experts to newcomers will truly enjoy a terrifying game experience, as Dario Argento witnessed first hand.

Dario Argento and videogames would normally seem like two very different and seemingly distant worlds in the eyes of many, but when the master of thriller was given the chance to play a character in Dead Space he didn’t think twice about it. The Italian director lent his decennial experience and actively contributed in defining the character. He provided precious and accurate suggestions about the overall tone and style of the voice acting, and didn’t just read the script. Thanks to his advice and attention to detail, the result is simply astounding, far beyond the usual ‘famous-voice-in-a-videogame’ cliché. The famous director had this to say about the game, “Dead Space truly captures the essence of fear in an entertainment medium. Not only is it the most terrifying game I’ve ever played, but it’s also one that all fans of horror will appreciate.”

Set in the cold blackness of deep space, the atmosphere in Dead Space is soaked with a feeling of tension, dread and sheer terror. In Dead Space, players step into the role of mining engineer Isaac Clarke, an ordinary man on a seemingly routine mission to fix the communications systems aboard a deep space mining ship. It’s not long before Isaac awakes to a living nightmare filled with vicious genetic mutations inside a dead, claustrophobic silence. Now Isaac is cut off, trapped, and engaged in a desperate fight for survival. . The PC version will ship on October 20, 2008. For more information about the game, go to the website at www.deadspacegame.com.

Facebreaker

So you want to keep your control pads intact? How about your telly? Or maybe just your sanity? Here's how kids: give Facebreaker an extremely wide berth.

It's bad enough when you're sat next to a 'friend' who insists on stringing together the same attacks over and over again. Live made this experience worse by pitting you against a faceless adversary; somebody who couldn't just be cuffed around the ear and berated. But Facebreaker takes it one step further by featuring brutal CPU characters who sadistically repeat the same moves until you die.

The age-old excuse, "the computer cheats", has seen us explain away many a loss, but here it's the truth. Facebreaker is the launch title of EA Freestyle, a label devoted to attracting a more casual audience. Why then, despite perfect presentation and an easy-to-understand interface, is the game unbelievably punishing? Even on the easiest difficulty EA Freestyle's target audience will be beaten senseless by the computer, and those who fare better will soon expose the cheap tactics the CPU employs.

Gears of War 2

Posted by Faruk on , under | comments (0)

One minute in and it's already clear that Epic's production values have been ramped up significantly for Gears of War 2.

The campaign starts with a CGI prologue movie detailing the decades-long Pendulum Wars, and how humanity sacrificed the planet in a desperate attempt to respond to the Locust horde crusading from the ground.

It's moody stuff - but not just dark Gears of War angst; there's "heart" in the story this time around, Epic promises.

The first act is the Tip of the Spear, the frontline in Humanity's struggle to defend the last standing city, Jacinto. We're reintroduced to Marcus Fenix, who's looking more grumpy and tired than ever. "It never ends..."

Presentation is top notch and the detail on the environment and frontline characters is better than the first game. The little details on Marcus and Dom, including a bowie knife clinging to Dom's armour, and the intricate slots and nozzles on the chainsaw-ing Lancer, are impressive.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is now available

Posted by Faruk on Sep 27, 2008 , under | comments (1)

Last year's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 left us sorely dissatisfied. EA Sports unnecessarily tweaked the gameplay system, leaving us hooking and slicing on every other swing. Worse yet, the buggy online interface ended up needing more work. A year later, EA Sports has learned the errors of its ways. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 shows vast expansion in every area imaginable, resulting in the best current-gen golf game yet.

First and most importantly, the gameplay is fun again. Rather than being stuck with an erroneous swing system where hooks and slices are commonplace, it feels more natural this time around. You can still score bad shots if you don't pay attention to wind trajectories and thumb motions, but overall it returns to the basics that the series has become known for. If you feel that the analog system is too much for you to bear, the classic three-button press system is still available, Overall, it's a dynamic control set-up that's fun, with birdies, eagles and even a couple of aces in the realm of possibility. We're glad EA Sports put needed stability back in this area.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Playstation)

The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince game will be an excellent interactive extension of the film and all of the new action that comes with it,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “EA is creating the Harry Potter video games that fans will love, and this game will deliver new gameplay elements and the magic players are looking forward to.”

“We have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with EA in collaborating on the videogames for all of the Harry Potter films,” said Harry Potter film Producer David Heyman. “The visual look of the game for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is incredibly authentic to the film and will provide a truly compelling experience for everyone who plays.”

In the game of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They will also have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.

OUTCRY

Posted by Faruk on , under | comments (0)

Adventure gamers looking for something off the beaten path get more than they bargain for in Outcry. This point-and-click exercise in the surreal from Russian developer Phantomery Interactive is certainly a step removed from the norm, but it's also so relentlessly strange and impenetrable that it's nearly impossible to play. Style has been elevated over substance in every aspect of the design, resulting in a trippy game that's appealing only for its bizarre atmosphere, philosophical pretensions, and striking visuals.

Even the basic storyline is tough to figure out, because you're given little to go on. The game begins with the anonymous protagonist (you have to check the manual to find out that you're a "middle-aged writer") receiving a letter from his estranged brother. Apparently your brother is a scientist working on a "paramount experiment that unlocks new horizons of human cognition" and involves getting "in precise sync with inner frequencies." The letter he sends you is tangled and nonsensical, and it hurls you into the game knowing precisely zip about what you're supposed to be doing. Getting the news that your brother has disappeared is the only part of the game's opening that is the slightest bit understandable. Various documents and recordings left around his abandoned residence seem to indicate that his experiment involved ancient megaliths, time travel, checking out alternate dimensions, separating human consciousness from the body, coming up with a recipe for really great salsa...that sort of thing. You eventually uncover a grab bag of goofiness about ancient secrets and the nature of reality. Still, none of it really connects. Either something was lost in the translation from the original Russian, or the storyline was just too New Agey in the first place.

WWE SMAKEDOWN VS RAW 2009 (COMMING SOON)

Posted by Faruk on Sep 25, 2008 , under | comments (0)

Producers told that each of the storylines in Road to WrestleMania mode will have about six hours of gameplay packed in, which makes all six storylines round out to a hefty 30 hours of WWE gameplay alone--and that's separate from the various other modes that will be found in SvR 2009. Though it might be the latest mode announced by the crew at THQ, it's definitely not the last surprise on the list for the game. We got a sneak peek at some of these as-yet-unannounced features--details of which we can't divulge just yet--and we can say that we like what we saw and think wrestling fans will too.

Brothers In Arms is Released

Posted by Faruk on Sep 23, 2008 , under | comments (0)

Ubisoft brings the third installment of their historic shooter series, Brothers in Arms, to the the Xbox 360.

One game pushed out of late 2007 was Ubisoft and Gearbox's Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. The game has been hit with a number of delays since it was originally pushed to early 2008, most recently bouncing to this week from August. Now with its kit together, the story-driven, squad-based shooter hops from its perfectly good airplane, following the 101st Airborne Division over a 10-day stretch as they attempt to secure an Axis-controlled road behind enemy lines. Hell's Highway will deploy on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Wii gamers will finally have a chance to fire up their own installment in the series, Brother's in Arms: Double Time.

While Warner Bros.' summer box-office smash The Dark Knight arrived without a game-adaptation sidekick, its internally owned Traveller's Tales studio will release its homage to the legendary DC Comics hero with Lego Batman. Descending not so much like a thief in the night as a carnie at a state fair, Lego Batman brings the same style of quirky humor to Gotham as Traveller's Tales' Lego Star Wars brought to George Lucas' revered universe. The game will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, DS, and PC.

Need For Speed Undercover (comming soon)

Posted by Faruk on Sep 22, 2008 , under | comments (0)

Need for speed undercover game is real racing game. When any drive this game they fell always good. One of the ways Black Box is looking to expand your driving abilities without necessarily changing the way cars handle is through what it's calling the Heroic Driving Engine, a system that allows you to achieve a new level of agility on the road. One of the ways it's done this is by removing the persistent relationship between a car's direction and the perspective of the camera. If you're flying down the road, you can jam on the brakes while jerking the control stick to the side and watch as your car does a 180 at speed while the camera remains firmly in place. It's not just for show; if you've thrown your car into reverse like this, you can double-tap the gas and your driver will come to a screeching halt and take off in the opposite direction. This entails the opposite scenario as before--your car will remain facing the same way while the camera turns around, saving you a good bit of time compared to the old-fashioned three-point turn. When you successfully engage in these types of moves, you'll be rewarded with RPG-style experience points that will upgrade your driving abilities.

You will able chance play this game when Need for speed undercover released on November 17.So wait for this game.
