Age of Empires II: The Conquers is the first expansion pack to the game. It is created by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios in the 2000, right after the release of Age of Empire 2. The Conquers is the fourth installment in the Age of Empires games series as a whole. The expansion pack is available for Microsoft Windows and Mac. Just like its predecessor, Age of Empires II: The Conquers is also a real time strategy genre video game. The game can be played in both single player and multiplayer mode using the MSN Zone or through LAN. Age of Empires II: The Conquers sometimes is also abbreviated as AOC.

The expansion pack for Age of Empires II includes lots of new features. The Conquers includes five new civilizations, four new campaigns, more new units, new map packs and new technologies. The expansion pack also includes minor tweaks to the gameplay. New civilizations introduced in the Age of Empires II: The Conquers are Huns, Spanish, Aztecs, Mayans and Koreans. Out of these Huns and Koreans are Asian; Aztecs and Mayans are South Americans, Spanish of Europe. All civilizations are unique in their qualities.

Age of Empires II: The Conquers includes new game modes such as Wonder Race, Defend the Wonder and King of the Hill. The game also includes four new single player campaigns and 11 new military units. Along with this Age of Empires II: The Conquers also includes new Heroes like Attila, Bleda, Erik etc. New maps included are Arena, Ghost Lake, Nomad, Mongolia, Salt Marsh, Scandinavia and Oasis. There are also real world maps of Briton, France, Byzantium, Japan and South America in the Age of Empires II: The Conquers. In total there are twenty six new technologies introduced in The Conquers.

This AOE2 expansion pack includes many new features and was considered as a big update to AOE2. Both official and non-official patches were released for the game. Many bugs were fixed through these expansion patches. Age of Empires II: The Conquers met with a huge response from critics. It is still one of the best games of mine.
