Peggle is very fascinating arcade style game. In this game, player has to hit the orange peg with the ball shot. Hitting all the orange pegs means that the level is cleared. Player assumes some strategy in order to clear the ball as much as he can. There are also pegs of some other colors in the Peggle. Like blue pegs that increase your score, purple pegs that are 50 times the worth of blue pegs and green pegs that are power boosters. MSNBC had added Peggle in “Top 5 Most Addicted Computer Games” of all time and PC Gamer Magazine placed Peggle at the 40th spot for the total of 100 favorite computer games.

Peggle is a colorful 2D background based video game. Free Peggle is available for Windows, Mac, iPod and Xbox Live Arcade. It is designed by the team of three designers namely Brian Rothstein, Eric Tams and Sukhbir Sidhu under the PopCap Games. Peggle is distributed through multiple distributors. PopCap Games hadn’t fixed any specific distributor in order to distribute the game. Peggle is developed on the PopCap Games FrameWork Engine. The Peggle PC version was released on February 27, 2007, and the iPod version of the Peggle was launched on December 18, 2007. Peggle’s Xbox 360 version for Xbox Live Arcade is yet to be released somewhere in the 2nd fiscal of 2008.

Players can chose from 10 different characters in the Peggle. Each character has its own power-up. Peggle is available in four game modes: Adventure, Quick Play, Dual, and Challenge. Peggle scoring is calculated in three ways. Firstly the number of pegs hit, secondly the “Style Point” bonuses, and thirdly level completion bonuses. Color Blind people can also play the game by identifying special signs put around the peg such as triangle on the green peg, and plus sign on the purple peg in Peggle.

Peggle is also shipped bundled with The Orange Box. This Orange Box version of the Peggle is named as Peggle Extreme by Pop Cap Games. It contains levels based on the Half Life 2, Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 and three Portal themed levels. You have two options regarding Peggle.
